CREATIVE CODING JR - Fun with Scratch

Program Information

You're never too young for coding.  This introductory workshop is designed to introduce students in grades 1-3 to coding using Scratch and code.org.  Scratch, developed by MIT, is a very-widely used introductory coding platform for students of all ages.

Students will learn basic coding so that they can make their characters move, tell stories, and make basic games.  Each student will have an account created for them so that they can continue their coding experience at home.

Note that, in participating schools, Scratch is also one of our in-school workshops for third grade students.  Though there is overlap with the in-school workshop, this workshop, this workshop is designed as a complement for 3rd grade participants.
